Does anybody know of a "free" Family Tree programme.
Just need a simple programme.

Be careful here as its all very well getting a free or cheap programme but if in the future you wish to upload or download data to or from geneology websites or other users you'll need to be sure its compatible. I use Genopro from click here which costs from memory $20 and is very good. You can download and try it first I believe.
Good luck

Sorry, it appears to be $39. I've used this prog for about 3 years now and upgraded (I currently use the v2 beta) and its been fine.

Good place to ask this question would be the Genes Reunited message board "Tips" section. click here I splashed out and purchased the basic edition of Family Tree Maker. Well worth it and simple to use. Also has its own backup system.

Thanks guys, Ill bear those points in mind.

I've used various family tree programs and have discovered that you get what you pay for. I soon found that the cheaper ones did not have all of the features that I wanted. I now use Family Historian and am very satisfied with it.

Try your local library. Where I live the library service offers help and advice on the subject. See:
