I have a new Samsung netbook. I increased the memory to 2Gb and bought an activation code to go from the windows 7 starter to home premium. Fails at 99% even though I've tried updates, stopping anti-virus, using a cable to the router. Can anyone suggest a solution?

Microsoft is not very helpful, unless you pay for advice. The issue was resolved by restoring the netbook to the factory settings, turning off the trial version of Norton, and adding router cable. It installed 16 updates taking over an hour using broadband (10 minutes possible for some computers!)then went through.

Installing updates is useless really- updating you OS with new stuff will always create issues which ends up corrupting your data.

Only update Anti-virus. MS updates is just microsoft's way to get more money
