Failed email delivery - time expired

I tried to email a friend recently but it bounced back to me with the following error message:

- These recipients of your message have been processed by the mail server:
[email protected]; Failed; 4.4.7 (delivery time expired)

Does anyone know what is causing this as it is the second time it has happened to me trying to email this person. Is it an error on my computer, on my server (Virgin .net), on the Yahoo server or on my friend's computer? Can anything be done to prevent it happening in future?

Try this link click here It explains the possible causes of the problem and there`s a link to test for problems to a particular address.

I would also check with Virgin that they don`t have issues with mail to Yahoo currently. It`s not unheard of for ISP`s to bounce mail to and from web based mail based on current spam activity although it is unlikely in this case.

The ; at the end of the E-Mail address should that be there.

Get your friend to send you an e-mail message. Then just press reply and send a message back,Sometime it is a mistake with spelling or a comma instead of a full stop.If the reply gets through you know its probably a mistake on your part.
