fading folders and icons

I have begun to notice that some of my folders (the mustard yellow icons used in windows to represent a folder) have gone a grey-yellow colour. This has also happened to some of my other icons within folders and seems to be spreading!! Is my hard drive on the way out or is it something equally scary?

Sorry should be "repair" it will install to control panel.

Thanks Dadyassa, but could not unzip it to try it. However, if you are suggesting it is just a cosmetic matter, and my hard drive is not dying, then I'm not so fussed.

Sorry forgot it was zipped, but you can get winzip on the same page, its shareware.

The same happened to my icons a couple of days ago.

Fading icons/folders indicates that they are set as hidden in file properties and you have selected to show all files in the Tools/Folder Options menu.
Select Hide system files in the Tools/Folder Options and the faded icons/folders should disappear.

dadyassa had a good idea, but musicman19 came up trumps. Thanks to you both for your suggestions and a special thanks to musicman19 for the solution.
