I have a photo embede in a MS Word document I have received by e-mail, and I wish to extract it and do some work on it with PhotoShop.

I can extract/copy it and put it intp PowerPoint, but mot into any image processing programme. It was put into the document as .jpg, but is no longer in that format.

How can I convert it back to .jpg chaps?

Thanks Johnny

It wouldn't work like that, but what I did do was to copy it into PowerPoint, then select 'save as' from the drop down menu, that then offered me 'do wish to use another format?' Selected that and then selected .jpg, and the recovery was complete.

Many thanks for that tip, imarcus.

Another way (which I use all the time - used it about an hour ago on a Word document to get the picture out!) is to use a screen grabber, such as MWSnap3.

Use it to draw a box around anything you want to save, and grab it as a picture. Works with any files - just grabs a section of the screen display)

That sounds quicker than my method, but what size is the 'grabbed' image file, compared to the original?

Pixel-wise it's exactly the number of pixels you grab from the screen.
