External Monitor Problem

It's a curious problem!

I have connected my laptop to my TV PC VGA input -I am getting a picture of my desktop on the TV - but it's not horizontal -it's vertical!

In settings, the no. 2 screen is also depper than it is wide - the settings are 1392 x 1856 - the second figure should be less.

Any ideas on what could possibly cause this please?

You've probably somehow set the screen to 90ยบ rotated. Look in the graphics card settings for the rotation settings - varies with card/driver, so if you want precise help you'll need to say what you've got.

DieSse:

Thanks for your reply. Before answering it I thought that I would just try System Restore and so reverted to the entry for March 18th - the last time I used this laptop.

For the life of me DieSse I can't think why I didn't think of that earlier - I'm afraid that old age is starting to rear it's ugly head! Needless to say, all is OK now.

Again my thanks.
