Extending wireless range

Setting up a wireless network and can get network connection outside of another building but not inside. What would be the easiest/cheapest solution to this (other than sitting outside!)
Is it possible to get a receiver that can be connected to the remote PC and mounted outside or do I need to boost the signal?
Im using a Netgear DG834g router.

The new generation of MIMO routers give a significant improvement in coverage (go to ebuyer site and type MIMO in the search box). However this may not be the cheapest method because you need to purchase a new router and matching cards for the computers to gain the full benefit of MIMO.

Looks like my router DG834g is not compatable with the netgear boosters so any other ideas, dont realy want to buy another router.
Is there such a thing as a receiver that can be wired into the target PC and mounted outside to receive the signal?
