Hi Running Man. Is this a random problem, or are you running any particular software when it happens. This will be difficult to track down unless we can find what program ~8776819283.TMP is associated with, but I suspect that spyware may have something to do with it. Have you tried a virus scan and spyware scan?

  Running Man 10:29 30 Apr 2004

No it happens everytime I start up the pc, if I click "close" all the items on the desktop dissapear, but I can still get email & use the web.

I've done a virus scan & that's clean.
Is spyware different to this then?

  johnnyrocker 10:30 30 Apr 2004

you would appear to have no anti spyware on board get spybot/adaware/spywareblaster from d/loads section of this site, update and run then post results back.

  Running Man 10:43 30 Apr 2004

I have Zone Alarm & Adsubtract

  johnnyrocker 10:45 30 Apr 2004

zone alarm is a firewall not anti spy , i dont know what add subtract is and i still advise as per my post.

  Running Man 10:48 30 Apr 2004

I've found Javacool's SpywareBlaster!!
is that ok?

  johnnyrocker 10:51 30 Apr 2004

thats a start but is only a preventer and will not take out anything already on your system you need the other two to carry out removal of anything on your machine at this time (would be interested in the results of the scans)

AdAware is probably the most popular anti spyware fromclick here, Spybot S&D is also very good, but I find it less easy to use click here.
