exel sharing

  sms 16:50 12 Jun 2007

i am sharing an exel spreadsheet between 3 computers. I am using the shared workbook function. Is there anyway to lessen the time that you have to wait before another user can use the workbook.
Or is there a better method overall to realtime share in exel

I don't know your setup, but if you are using a simple lan network, you can share a folder containing the spreadsheet and then alow network users to change the files. Then you have it on one computer and the enveryone who is connected to it can then edit it when they want, unless the computer containing the file in offline. You could even set a password for that folder.

Have you checked
"Allow changes by more than one user at the same time" option

done all that. Its the time delay before each edit that is annoying. You can adjust the time of edit but it does not go delow a limited time.
Is there another way to share in real time ?
