.exe Applications

Could someone please help me? I am getting a new Laptop on Tuesday and want to know if I can copy my .exe programs onto a CD, so I can then copy them and install them on my new laptop? If not, could you please tell me how I do it? Thankyou...

You will need to install them from the original program CD. Except for very simple programs you cannot simply copy the .exe from one PC to another and expect them to work.

.exe can be a bit confusing as it can refer to the activation file of an installed program, which as VoG™ has pointed out may well not be transferable, or it can also be an program installation file that has been downloaded and kept. This could be transferred and used to install the program. If you can be a bit more precise as to what files you're looking at maybe we can be more specific.
