how can I get excell to only show a positive result to a formula, I could do it in Lotus 123 with SUMPOSITIVE but can't find an equivalent in excell, any suggestions

You could try

=SUMIF(A1:A10,">0")

where A1:A10 is the range of values you want to add.

Just had a flash back from my sinclair spectrum days and tried =ABS(-10) and it gives the result 10 so try =ABS(your formula). I think back in the good old days it meant absolute value ie ignores the + and - or something.

As Worm of Doom I would agree, but this formula would return an empty cell rather than 0.

=IF(SUM(A1:A10)>0,SUM(A1:A10),"")
