Excel start problem

  gaporter 15:33 17 Jun 2006

I am running Excel 2003 with Windows XP sp2.
It was functioning correctly until a week ago. Now each time I start excel it is in highlight mode/ That is all I can do is move the mouse + cursor around and Excel highlights a range of cells. I can't even click on the menus nor the close button. I have booted in "Safe" mode and Excel seems to function normally. Any Suggestions?

What do you mean by 'highlight mode'?

Start in Safe Mode, load Excel and use Detect and Repair on the Help menu.

That is correct VOG
I think he may be talking about the same as if you have seected a cell and kept the left mouse button held down. I have seen this before AND
