Am trying to calc the years between todays date and earlier time but having trouble getting formula right.

Cell N1 has date, say 29-SEP-1998
Cell P1 is todays date
want 360 day yr count

Formula used:
=YEARFRAC(N1,P1,2)

Get a resulting #NAME?

Can someone tell me what am I doing wrong.
Thanks

I have just tried the same formula that you have used and got the same result. I then went into the Help system and found I had to use one of the Addins. I then clicked on Tools/Addins then checked Analysis Toolpak and went through the simple install bit. I then went in to Excel and used the same formula that you have and came up with the answer 5.4305556.
Try it and see.

Yep, you need the Analysis Toolpak

An alternative (that doesn't need the Toolpak) is DATEDIF, e.g.

=DATEDIF(C8,TODAY(),"y")

TonyV & VoG,
Both solutions work.
Thanks for your help
