On this subject click here I need the formula so I don't have the _001 on the end i.e AR15620 001 is AR156_20A.

This is starting using cells C2 and M2. Thanks.

Formula for C2

=LEFT(C2,5)&"_"&MID(C2,6,2)&"A"

What about if it is AUA214 001 and I want it to be AUA2__14A.

This seems to work with both examples

=LEFT(C4,FIND(" ",C4)-3)&"_"&MID(C4,FIND(" ",C4)-2,2)&"A"

Or perhaps

=LEFT(C4,FIND(" ",C4)-3)&REPT("_",12-LEN(C4))&MID(C4,FIND(" ",C4)-2,2)&"A"

Thanks for all your help today. Second option worked, the first option didn't put the extra _ in.
