Excel and mail merge

If I have a list of peoples info:
for example: first name, surname, picture of them

how do i "link" a picture of a person into say C2 or C3 etc, so when I mail merge the work into a word document, it copies over the picture into a document?

I'm trying to create an "ID" card - for GCSE coursework next year and this has flummoxed me!
