I need a formula in a cell that referances the previous cell numerical range to an alphabetical character e.g. if A1=0 to 90 then the result is N and if A1=91 to 120 then the result is E and if A1=121 to 150 then the result is D. There are a total of 6 ranges to be considered. Any suggestions would be appreciated as it's driving me nuts!!! many thanks.

=IF(A1=0,"N",IF(AND(A1>=91,A1<=120),"E", IF(AND(A1<=121,A1<=150),"D")))

Just looking at your suggestion and thought something not quite right. On checking it out I find the following modified version does the job.

=IF(AND(A1>=0,A1<=90),"N",IF(AND(A1>=91,A1<=120),"E", IF(AND(A1>=121,A1<=150),"D")))

A.

Absolutely correct, thank you. However, I sense that we may ultimately be asked for a more advanced formula!
