Excel Formula Help Please

I have a list of sales invoices. For argument’s sake in column A I have the date paid , in column B I have the monetary value and in column C I want the monetary value if the invoice has not yet been paid.

I need a formula along the lines of “in cell C4 enter the value of B4 if there is no entry in A4 , if there is any entry in A4 do not enter anything in C4”.

I hope I have explained my requirements (but maybe not as I am struggling to get this to work!). Any help will be very much appreciated. TIA.

In C4 enter

=IF(A4="",B4,"")

I think the isblank function will do what you want - put " =IF(ISBLANK(A1),0,B1)" in cell c, and it will show 0 if there's no date in cell a.

Thanks both - all sorted (now why couldn't I do that!).
