Excel formula for calculating depreciation

Can anyone help with a problem Ive been given and that is I want to calculate the depreciation of equipment (office machines) and I dont know the formula to use in excel.

Type Depreciation into the help. There are a number of functions there.

=DB(PurchasePrice,SalvageValue,Life,PeriodToCalculate,FirstYearMonth)
The FirstYearMonth is the month in which the item was purchased during the first financial year. This is an optional value, if it not used the function will assume 12 as the value.
