Can someone advise how I list hours and minutes in a worksheet so that I can add them up please i.e. 08:30 plus 07:45 equals 16:15.

Thanks

You can just add them up:

=A1+B1

and format the result cell as Custom

[h]:mm

to ensure that durations of 24 hours or more display correctly.

when formatting, by using the [] brackets round the "hours" component, you are formating as a "duration" rather than as a "time"...

There is such a thing as 25 hours duration, but no such time as 25 O'clock...

if formatted without the [] brackets;
8:00
+
8:00
+
9:00

= 1:00 (ie 1:00AM)

Using the [] brackets you get 25:00

Hope that helps.
