The formula in this cell refers to a range that has additional numbers adjacent to it.What does this message mean and how do I stop it.I use XPERROR

You could try

Tools > Options > Error Checking and turn off "Enable Background Error Checking".

Hi difarn Thanks for the reply but where to go to to find tools.Do I have to go into Excel or into my spread sheet.Have looked but cannot see tools anywhere.

I have just tried it on my 2007 excel

Go to the Microsoft button - top left Excel Options at the bottom Formulas on the left It is under error checking.

The instruction I gave was for a much earlier version of excel, sorry.
