I use excel to organise my banks outgoing and incoming tranactions.Normally the biggest sum of money in or out is about £210.00.I have now had a payment of £10,911.29 paid in to my bank but when I try to enter it onto my excel spreadsheet I just end up with a load of lines in the cell which are like five joined up hash signs.Anyone have any ideas apart from dividing it up into smaller amounts

Increase the width of the column.

Simply widen the column and all will be revealed. At the top of the column double click the vertical bar to the right of the column header.
