Excel 2000 chart colour conflict

  Brenne 23:09 21 May 2013

Using Excel 2000, I have created charts with different coloured bars. Trying to add keys to label these colours, I cannot match the colour of a bar with a colour in the "fill" grid at the top right of the Excel toolbar. Is it possible to change the colours of the bars in the chart, or can I instead alter the colours in the "fill" grid?

After a quick search I have found two web sites for Excel 2000 tutorials CLICK HERE or CLICK HERE both should have the instructions you need.

I have Excel 2003, but think you will have same option in Excel 2000.

Rightclick on one of the colours in your chart and choose 'Format Data Series' then you can change the colour in the 'Patterns' tab

Thank you BRYNIT and Iotvic. Between you, my problem has been solved (and I learned something else useful about Excel!). My charts are now just how I want them on the screen. Now my task is to get my printer to come up with the same colour combinations. Any thoughts? Brenne.

Not sure what you mean about the printer. Why wouldn't it print the colour combinations that are in the chart? Please explain.
