my mum has an evesham pc. it has some sort of 1.7ghz processor and 256mb of ram. ive looked at memory upgrades and it appears able to go to 1gb. it is painfully slow at present . it is running xp sp2 and has computer associates anti virus etc. ive defragged etc and run ccleaner on it.is there anything else i can do and is it worth upgrading the ram considerably, would it make a huge difference? all she does is uses word and the internet.

many thanks

Yes RAM upgrade is the cheapest most effective way of improving a computer's performance, up to a point. XP works much better with 512MB or more.
