Evening graham, your link is for Win2K server. AMD 4 ever do you use a proxy server? because your machine is trying to configure an interface to be automatically dialed when a request is received by the DNS proxy agent.

Not but I recently setup up a home network...but no longer use it it, and the other machine was set to share internet..is that any possible cause?

Sure is, what O/S are you using?

XP Home OEM.

Apologies for delay:

You have options:

Leave it, if all is running fine then...

Use system restore and go back.

Open regedit and go to the following registry keys

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters

Add the following registry value:
Value Name: DisableDHCPMediaSense
Data Type: REG_DWORD -Boolean
Value Data Range: 0, 1 (False, True) Default: 0 (False)

Restart your computer.

The above is not without its side effects as it can cause future problems.
