The Euro sign in Outlook Express

I have a friend who lives in France. If I send him an email using OE that requires the currency sign for the Euro (€) I get a window that offers me "Send as Unicode", "Send as Is" or "Cancel"

Both Send as Unicode and Send as Is will send the Euro sign. But can I set OE to send it without getting this popup window every time?

From OE's Tools>Options>Send tab>International settings, the normal default is Western European (ISO).

Try changing the default to one of the two Unicode settings or User Defined - however, it might affect other normal wording.

You would have to Apply any changes before OK-ing.

Thanks Stuartli. Will give it a try. Can always go back if it doesn't work.

Stuartli, well that certainly stopped the popup.

Now have to wait and see if it affects my normal emails.

Well everything seems to be OK. Have sent quite a few emails with no problems.

Thanks Stuartli, will tick as resolved.

If it works there will be nobody more surprised than me - it was only a (perhaps) inspired guess...:-)
