Ethernet / Security

  rawprawn 15:09 08 Dec 2005

I recently fitted an ethernet card and modem, my question is when I log off as far as I can tell the computer turns my firewall (ZA Free)and AV off but I am still connected. Does this pose a security threat.I understand that being connected all the time creates a situation using only one address but is the firewall still active when logged off.

Zone Alarm will still be running when logged off.

Thank you guys, that answers my question, I already have Malware Reoval in my favourites, it is a brilliant site. It was just a question I couldn't figure out.
