Hello, ive got a problem with my ethernet cable, im using a netgear router, my main PC is connected to it via ethernet, and my NTL modem is connected to it via another ethernet cable which is giving out the signal for my laptop to connect.

Now my problem is that im on my laptop and the internet just stops working, no pages will load, so i go check my NTL modem lights, and the Enet light is off, so i tap the ethernet cable slightly and the Enet light starts blinking again, and my laptop gets internet again.

But i have to do this like 5 times a day.. WHY!?

I was experiencing a similar problem a couple of weeks ago, but now it all seems fine. I kept rebooting by modem and it would come back on. I think now it might have been something at NTL's end. Have you checked their Service outage page to see if there is any problem in your area? Look here click here

Bad cable?

Yeah it could also be a faulty ethernet cable. You can get another one really cheap on ebuyer. click here or borrow one from a mate to try.
