A friend has formatted his PC but he is missing the ethernet controller driver to access the internet. He has run Belarc and it says under communication HSP56 World MicroModem and 1394 Net Adapter. Where does he download these drivers please? thanks.

HSP56 is a modem; 1394 is a firewire adapter; neither of them is your ethernet controller. If the ethernet controller is built into the motherboard then you should be able to get the correct driver from the PC or motherboard manufacturer's website. Belarc should tell you who the manufacturer is. If you still need help, then post back with that information and also tell us what operating system you are using.

It says the 'Main Circuit Board' is:-

HP System Board HP P/N
Serial Number: KD1231006831
Bus Clock: 133 megahertz
BIOS: Phoenix Technoligies, LTD VG31310 08/23/2002

O/S is XP pro.

Actually I think it is a PCI card. How do I found out what driver I need for that?

If it is an HP PC then you need the model and model number which will be written somewhere on the PC. Enter that into their website at click here and you should find the driver.
If it is a PCI card then there should be information on the card or chipset to help identify it.
If it is PCI and you can't identify it then you could think about buying a new ethernet card which will only cost about £10.00 and will come with a driver CD.

The PCI card is a PCL-PCI10 but I cant find anywhere to download it. Any ideas please. Thanks.
