Ethernet Card

I receive the internet from NTL world via set-top box. I have been told that the speed could be faster because I have an ethernet adapter going in to a USB port which makes it slower. If I have it going direct into an ethernet connection it could speed up. Is this true and could someone recommend an ethernet card for me please. Thanks.

What PC do you have?

Any branded card should do the job for you, eg: PC World NETGEAR FA311 10/100MBPS RJ-45 ETHERNET CARD

So would it speed up my connection by using an ethernet card rather than USB?

I don't think that you will notice any difference, but I find mine more reliable.
