'Error Safe' spyware/riskware removal question

  Chris Webster 21:45 06 Aug 2006

Whilst I was away my Dad inadvertently downloaded 'Error Safe' from a pop up (he never ran the program from the desktop icon that appeared though, if that makes any difference)

I've had a look around on the net and It's classed as spyware/riskware. I uninstalled it and run Ad-Aware and the new version A-Squared and deleted all the entries they both found. I've also removed the entries in ZoneAlarms allow list. I finally ran CCleaner on 'Cleaner' and 'Issues'.

Should all of the above be enough to get rid of this sneaky prog?

Cheers Chris.

If it is on the desktop, then it's been installed. If you have already run the apps that you mention, have they removed it?

Ad-Aware found 4 reg entries which I deleted and A-Squared found an .exe file which I also deleted. I'm going to rescan my dads computer tomorrow to make sure it's not 'stuck' in a restore point.

Cheers Chris.
