error messages when using outlook express

When I try to use my e-mail I get the following error message on screen "The server responded with an error. Account: '', Server: '', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR AVG POP3 Proxy Server: Cannot connect to the mail server!', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90" but I can use it if I disable AVG e-mail scanner. Also when I try to quit the program the message Ox77f5215e referenced memory at Ox007f506C The memory could not be written, and I have to click O.K to terminate the program. Can anyone help please, I am currently using AVG virus protection.

I think you may also be using ZoneAlarm. There was an issue with a conflict between AVG & ZA. I think the solution is to uninstall AVG then re-install the latest version of AVG.

I don't know about the Zone alarm/ avg conflict - But the only thing I can add is - After trying that, update outlook express using Windows Update and update AVG to the latest versions.
