Hi Yesterday my PC 'Froze' on a couple of occasions and this morning I checked the event Viewer/SystemThis is what I foundAt 22.17 An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0\D during a paging operation. At 22.02 An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0\D during a paging operation. At At 22.01 The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk0\D.There are quite a few entries with the same Message.Does this mean something is on its way out?TIAD
I don't know the answer but I would be very nervous about loosing my hhd make sure your back ups are up to date
The drive normally seems fine I've had trouble with it before. BUT seemed to be a cable issue. What does worry me is the fact that The socket for the SATA cable on the motherboard is a bit wobbley. (cheap MoBo. Winfast something or other.I did do a google search for the MOBO a few weeks ago (£27)BTW the PC is 16months old. AMD Athlon 64 3400 1gigRam etcD
Just to re cap on this error I had.A friend came round and ran a program called 'Diskeeper' and also altered my MFT size (it was on 79MBs. This seems to have stopped the computer from freezing up and its now running as it should.Tanks for other pointers though,D
