Having recently reformatted my P111 to run win xp when I try to start up a connection via Alcatel Speed Touch USB modem (new updated drivers installed)windows crashes instantly. The subsequent 'error message' confirms the following....BC code:dl BCP1:748E4230 BCP2:00000002 BCP3:00000000 BCP4:748B4230 OSVER:5_1_2600 SP:1_0 PRODUCT:768_1
I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling several times without avail, also the built in pace 56 modem creates the same error.
hi this seems to be a hardware problem first i need to know your pc hardware as you have said you use p3 proccessor so your motherboard could be old so give every detail your motherboard has and your memory hard drive capascity . the other thing you will need to do is go in to device manger and manually unstall the prevous modem hard ware and drivers then restore the modem and drivers sometimes these can cause hardware confrontation locks. email if you need [email protected]
-P111 5000MHZ CPU with 512 KB cache - Asus P3B-F....Jumperfree ATX Motherboard BX Chipset P11/111 - PC 100 128MB SDRAM MODULE (recently upgraded to 512 with three extra 128s installed) -18GB UDMA hard disk drive.
I had the reformatting/upgrade carried out by a local 'expert workshop' and apparently the base unit work fully, with internet connection etc, on all of their own peripherals. They can't understand why the error is occurring. The alcatel modem works fine with my laptop running XP as well....hence liaising with you now.
