Error Message on starting Control Panel

  Chas 16:04 30 Nov 2004

When starting Control Panel I get quote A required AHQcpRes.dll cannot be found. Reinstall AudioHQ related files unquote. This started when I replaced my SBLive soundcard with the later Audigy 2ZS Platinum Pro. This .dll seems to be related to Audio HQ, if it's name is anything to go by, which came as part of the SBLive bundle but no longer exists for the Audigy variant. Apart from the irritation the message appears to signify no harm. Does anyone know of this and how I might stop it happening, please? I'm on XP Home SP2.

It's probably looking for the AudioHQ Control Panel Applet. Go to C:\Windows\System32 and rename AudioHQU.cpl to something else and try again.

That did the trick - thanks.
