I would be grateful if anyone could advise the problem I have everytime I logon to my computer.

I get an error message box which says:

Error loading C:\Users\Linda\AppData\Local\Temp\vtUmNDvU.dll

The specified module could not be found.

This was as a result of eventually removing a virus from my computer by installing Spybot. I have uninstalled it now but the message still appears.

I have a windows XP vista.

Thanks.

Linda.

Try a system restore to a point before Spybot removed the entry.

Start>all programmes>accessories>system tools>system restore.

If she restores to a point prior to removing the virus then she will reinstall the "virus". I doubt if System Restore was switched off before removal.

You could go into msconfig (Start>Run>msconfig) and go to the startup tab and look for any sign of vtUmNDvU.dll. If its there take the tick out of the box then restart to see if it goes away.
You should also run another anti virus programme and anti spyware programme in safe mode.

Will that not bring the "virus" problem back?

You could try a System Restore, as mentioned above then use a different programme to remove the virus.

Or after System Restore try this on line scan: click here

before you go system restore
reboot f8 last know good configuration
system restore changes many files and reg entries
and in some cases might replace more files than you want restored

Thank you to everyone for their help with the error message problem. I finally got rid of it but now have a box that comes up at the bottom which says;

Windows has blocked some start up programs, every time I log on.

Has anyone got any idea how I remove this?

Thanks

Linda.
