I have a new Carrera Box PC. After it has done its self-test, an error message comes up
'invalid boot.ini, booting from C:\Windows'
It boots fine, but what does the error message mean, and what do I do to correct it?

If it is new the supplier should fix it!

I have no boot.ini file, so I will have to make one in Notepad. I am nervous to do this.

[boot loader]

timeout=5

default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect

I have double-spaced this so it should post properly.

I need to make a new one via Notepad, but I am very nervous to do this
