Error message??

  askin 23:09 23 Jul 2006

I've switched my computer on this evening and as it began loading up the following message appeared...'checking file system on C:The type of file system FAT32....then there's a countdown with lots of other info. I managed to switch the computer off before it started another cycle. It now displays a message as it starts. TO Stop it I have to press a key. What has happened and can I remove it?...any advice would be appreciated!

You should let Checkdisk run - it's running for a reason, so don't cancel it. If it returns after being run, then you have a dirty bit set in the registry, the cure for which is straightforward, but I have not got a link to hand. Perhaps someone else can come up with one in case you need it.

Yes you should allow it to finish checking your disc

Do you mean that it keeps running chkdsk then restarting, over and over?

I've just let the system run, re-started it and it's fine...Thanks Folks :)
