I am haveing problems with my Dell desktop PC running on XP. When the log on screen comes up it is meant to be the blue screen with the pictures for each user instead it comes up with the small box for the user and password (it looks like the Windows 98 log on screen). When I do log on an error message pops up saying Error loading C:\WINDOWS\System32\NvCpl.dll Invalid access to memory location. I dont know if it is 2 seperate problems or 1 problem. All help welcome.
The nvcpl.dll forms part of your graphics card drivers and I'm guessing that yo have an nVidia graphics card...
Boot into safe mode and from the Add/Remove section in the control panel remove the nVidia display drivers, reboot and then reinstall the drivers. You may be better downloading the latest ones from click here
