Error in Excel

After installing a new hard drive and XP Pro I am getting an error message whenever opening Excel or closing it.
The message reads" Compile error in hidden module." Autoexenew.

When I close excel the error reads, "Compile error in hidden module." DistMon

Can anyone help please.
I am running Office XP standard

Think this is connected to an error associating to PDF Adobe files, to do with Add ins of Excel. Will get back to you.
