I am running a Dell Inspiron 1100 laptop to drive BT's broadband service. within the last week, after downloading an update of Outlook Express I have been subject to an email blackout and very annoying errors in searching for web pages. At first I could not get anything on the web. I found that the new copy of OE defaulted to different setting for connection. After resetting to "Use any available connection", I can get email. Most of the time shutting the machine down and restarting cures the problem for a little while, maybe 15 minutes, then it starts again. BT thinks it may be a problem with DNS servers and restarting gets a new one assigned. If this is true there must be a lot of duff servers out there.
