Hi - can someone please help??! I keep getting an error 1309 when im trying to install msoffice 2000 on to my pc. It keeps asking me to cancel, retry or ignore the message, but either way msoffice will not install. I have windows xp and my pc is brand new - only bought it afew weeks ago. Please help :O)
try making a folder called office and then copying the cd to that folder. You will have to be able to view hidden files to do it. Then go to control panel add/remove progs and delete any office files found. Reboot and try clicking on setup in the office folder on the hard drive.
Do you feel confident in editing registry. If you are then I suggest you do the following:
1. Create a system restore point before attempting to edit the registry.
2.Click on start-->Run and type regedit.....press enter 3.Open Hkey_Local_Machine\software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Current Version\WinLogon 4. In the right hand pane if the value AllocateCDRoms is set to 1 then change it to 0
