Equipotential earh bonding of mains gas pipe

  Colonel Graham 15:52 06 Sep 2011

Just had my boiler serviced and was handed a Warning Notice that the gas supply pipe is not earthed.

I now know it should be in 10mm cable within 600mm of the entry point. Can anyone clarify the earth connection point: Consumer Unit (easy) or Electric Meter (longer run)?

I suggest you get a qualified electrician to earth it for you (and check the rest of your wiring while he's at it) I have heard some real horror stories of gas and water pipes becoming live.
