Epson Scanner Prob

  Legslip 21:30 14 Nov 2007

I have an Epson Perfection 1240U and it uses Epson SmartPanel. I recently tried to use it and when asked to scan through Smartpanel I got a Runtime Error Message. I upgraded to the latest SmartPanel v3.5 and now get an Epson Twain 5 window with the message Scanner not ready. Check that the scanner is turned on (it is!). Driving me nuts! Any ideas? Oh, Win 2000 Pro

Download the Latest Drivers for the Scanner. twain as got corrupted

...uninstalled it in System Devices, rebooted and Plug 'n Play reinstalled it but still don't work.
Could it have re-installed an already corrupt driver?

You need to first Remove it from Add Remove then Go to Windows Explorer and Delete the Epson Scanner Folder. I also go into Regedit and delete references but if you have a Epson Printer it's better left alone.then load new Scanner Driver followed by the Smart Panel Software

You have to reboot after loading drivers

....I'll have a go over the weekend. Your help is greatly appreciated!

DON'T have the printer switched on when installing the software. WAIT until instructed to switch it on.
