Hi all,My son in law has an Epson C66 printer and has replaced all the cartridges with genuine Epson replacements but it won't print, does it have to be reset or is it something more serious. Thanks in advanceRegards Bob
Hi, has the printer been in continuous use? If not the nozzles and heads may need cleaning. Also where were the Epson inks purchased from, check their Use-by dates.Cheers
PS - when he replaced the cartridges were the old ones empty? Cartridges should not be changed unless they are empty.
Technotiger,Thanks for quick response, son in law said he bought them from PC World, printer stopped printing colour but he carried on until the black ran out then replaced the lot, I think you could be right about needing cleaning, is it auto cleaning by the printer or take it apart and clean manually, i'll probably get the job.Regards Bob
It should be 'cleaned' by the printer software - Epson Status Monitor - freely downloadable from the Epson website, if he does not already have it.
PS - I would not advise manual cleaning - a very tricky and a very dirty job, not worth the effort because new printers are so cheap these days.Cheers
Technotiger,Thanks for your help, will check out Epson site.Regards Bob
