my epson c62 has began to stop and it says ,,,it now needs a service ,, will i have to throw it away . because i have bought some cartridges for it ..

No it depends how far you want to go to resurrect it, or how big you pockets are. one of two choices

The service request is normally because it's calculated the waste ink pads (they absorb the ink used in cleaning cycles) are full and need replacing.

for a program that claims to be able to reset the counter. Some people say it's tricky to use and doesn't always work - but I've seen it work on a printer a year or so ago - not sure which model.

NOTE - you really ought also to replace the waste ink pads too - as eventually they will overflow and ink will run throughout the printer - damage it and make an awful mess.
