End Program

I have started to experience problems when closing down Windows XP.

When I go to close down I keep getting
“End Program- File Open Message Window
Program not Responding”

I do not know what file it is

I have to cancel it then close down Windows.
I have recently upgrade Starter Pack 2.

You must have a program running in the background that isn't letting Windows close it at shutdown. Press Alt+Ctrl+Del to bring up Windows Task Manager and see what applications and processes are running. There may well be one that you don't want anyway. Perhaps running AdAware from click here can reveal if there is some malware on your computer. If a legitimate program is refusing to shutdown properly then a registry tweak sometimes helps. Have a look here click here

Problem resolved. What was the cure?
