enclosures- caddies for HD's

  swapper 18:58 28 Jul 2009

I have heard that I could get a holder that would allow me to use a internal HD outside of its tower, but that there are two types of drive.
Is there a caddy(?) enclosure, that would be suitable for either, and could anyone recommend anything please?

I think that you mean SATA and IDE as the two types of hard drive.
Some of the enclosures on this page will accept either type. click here

If you Google you will find many more, each as good as the other basically.

I have a SATA caddy that slides in to a desktop and acts like a second HD (speed etc) It has a key, does not need to be switched on all the time and can easily be slid out to keep elsewhere. Got it from Maplin.

Thank you all, that should give me something to think about!
