email funny?

  bmori 18:54 13 Nov 2005

I just received an email FROM my wanadoo email address TO my wanadoo email with a strange content ( here's a bit}
"is a nonprofit/charity contact email address right? if so...

click here"

I've had lots of spam from bogus addresses but never one from my own to my own!

Anyone any ideas how this can happen or has it happened to you?

The From address is either spoofed or taken from the address book of one of your contacts.

thanks VoG......never thought they would use my email address to send an email to me....just goes to show you

I have just received the same message again.

It comes in from my wanadoo email account into outlook express and strangely enough it is the only email which does not contain the NOD32 virus scan message - why should this message escape being scanned?

It is labelled as ***SPAM*** as all my spam messages which arrive via my wanadoo account are.

Any further thoughts?

click here - read this and then take a look at the email header.

I looked at the header - but I was wondering how it escaped being virus scanned - here is the header with my wanadoo address as jobloggs

Seeing as you have still got the email, cut and paste that header into a new email and send it to [email protected] and let them see if they can trace the culprit.
