A friend has just switched to TalkTalk broadband. Something strange is happening with her email service. She can send mail to me, but when I reply it comes back "Unknown address error 550-'Unknown user' "If I send new mail to the address, it gets through.Both addresses are the same. Wots up?
You probably not altered your Reply message panel to your own e-mail address from the From: drop down menu.
No, it is returned showing friends correct address.
No, I mean your e-mail address in the From: form line.
I have several e-mail addresses. If I Reply to an e-mail sent to other than my Default e-mail address (which is TalkTalk) and leave another e-mail address in the From: box in error, it's bounced back immediately.I have to change it to my TT e-mail address.

The message was received and reply sent using the same default address.The new mail was also sent from the default address.This is an on-going situation, not a one-off.I will ask her to try with other contacts to see what happens.

I will check those links. She has just replied to one I sent. I replied to that, and it bounced with the same error 550.
