Open Windows Explorer. Navigate to the file you want to send in an email. Right-click the file once,

Click "Send To" and then click "Compressed (zipped) Folders." Windows will create a zip archive consisting of the file you selected.

Right-click the zip archive. Click "Send To" 'and this time choose "Mail Recipient." Windows will launch your default email handler (such as Windows Live Mail) and attach the archive to a new message.

Add a recipient, insert a message in the body, and click "Send."

Not used it myself but what about Windows Live Skydrive will that do what you want? SkyDrive gives you loads of free online storage, perfect for sharing files with others, backing up your documents or sending files that are too large to email.
